Strocknich Wedding
This last Saturday I had the immense privilege of being the officiant at my baby brother Brian's wedding. He and Jen Oknich tied the knot at Wild River State Park next to the St. Croix River. I've got more pictures in the upper right hand corner. I'm not ordained so I didn't do anything legal, they did all the legal stuff last October. We just had the public ceremony in the wild. I made it through the ceremony ok, but when I laid hands on them to pray for them I lost it. I cry when I pray anyways, so nothing new. Brian and Jen were gracious in planning the wedding when I would be in MN, so we braved the chilly early May air.
The two days prior to the wedding were torrential rain showers with forecasts for more rain through the weekend. But, Saturday morning we woke up to sunny skies. God was very gracious to us. The day culminated in a unity bonfire which Brian and Jen lit with drip torches lent by the state park. It was such an honor to be asked by them to do this. Now I can say "Always the groomsman, best man, photographer, pastor, but never the groom."
Someday Greg, someday.... Psalm 105:1-4 :) I'll be praying for you as you head back to CZ.

Greg and family,
This is one of the most precious weddings we have been to. We are so happy to have been a part of it.
You did a great job as the officiant!
Safe travels back to Czech, Greg. It is always great seeing you!

We are so happy that you are back home safe and sound. Thank you so much for everything you did for Brian and Jen. The service was perfect. Once again we say we are so blessed and pleased to have you as our son. We miss you terribly already and look forward to our video phone calls. Hang in there, get the work done, and in 3 1/2 weeks you can breathe a sigh of relief. We love you !!!!

Thanks for being a part of our wedding, Greg. You did a great job. :) I'm really glad you had a bulletin with you - 'cuz I didn't know what I was doing up there.
...and thanks for letting me haul you around during the reception for pictures! I had so much fun.
All the best~
Jen
P.S. You got my last name right the first time - Oknich... it only sounds like a notch in a tree (oak nick).
P.P.S. No worries about the women-folk. It's always when you don't expect to find one that you find one. Seriously - no cliche. Generally because you're so happy with your life the way it is that we come in and muck things up. :) ha ha ha! I didn't officially date anyone until I was 28 - and look what happened - I was married 11 months later.
